Style Spotlight: Filipa From @our_british_home

Tell us who you are and how you spend your time?
My name is Filipa and I’m 38 years old. I’m originally from Portugal and I have lived in the UK for 8 years with my partner, my son who is 6 years old and our ginger cat, Pixie. I love reading, going to the beach, doing home decor projects and travelling (so far I visited 20 different countries).
How would you describe your interior style?
My interior style is a warm-neutral colour palette, where I look for serenity (my fav is the aesthetically pleasing rattan baskets). I find the neutral colours calming and relaxing so that is the vibe I try to recreate at home.
How do you incorporate fragrance when you style your space? Do you find that certain scents complement specific spaces or aesthetics?
I do love fragrances around the house, especially when we have guests. I love when someone enters our house, and the scent brings a nice feeling linked to the home decor.
How does fragrance play a role in your personal space? Are there any signature scents that you love to have in your home?
My favourite scents are vanilla and scents that remind me of summer holidays but I love to switch scents from season to season.
What are your go-to fragrance types for creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere?
As it’s autumn, I am using cinnamon, pine and pumpkin type fragrances to create a cozy atmosphere.
If you could step inside anyone’s home to experience their signature scent, whose home would it be and why? How do you imagine their space smells?
I would love to step inside Mrs Hinch home. I love her home interior style and the cleaning hacks, so I imagine her house always smelling amazing.
Do you have any projects you’re working on right now that you’re excited about? Where can we find you online?
I’m currently redoing my son's bedroom and finally we will have a built- in wardrobe in his room after using the same one since he was a baby (not much room anymore!) and just did a new gallery wall at the living room that has been on the pipeline for a while.
You can find me on Instagram. I have a Home Account called @our_british_home.
