Style Spotlight: Hayley from @thebygonerevivedcollection

Tell us who you are and how you spend your time?

Hi! I’m Hayley, a Paramedic, mum of two (Ivy 7 and Archer 6), fiancée to Jay (I refer to him as Mr NSNH in a lot of my posts) and a total home and interiors enthusiast. When I’m not on shift or enjoying the Mum-life, you’ll usually find me restoring and reviving furniture, thrifting for unique vintage décor, or getting creative with arts and crafts. I love giving old pieces of furniture a new lease on life and creating a home that tells a story. Right now, I’m also deep in wedding planning mode - we’re getting married in March, and I can’t wait!

How would you describe your interior style?

I’d say my style is a mix of vintage charm and cozy elegance. I love blending timeless pieces with characterful, one-of-a-kind finds. There’s something so special about incorporating history into a home, whether it’s through restored furniture, thrifted treasures, or handmade details. I gravitate towards warm, inviting spaces with a balance of nostalgia and modern comfort.

How do you incorporate fragrance when you style your space? Do you find that certain scents complement specific spaces or aesthetics?

Fragrance is such an essential part of my home - it’s like the finishing touch that brings everything together. I love choosing scents that enhance the mood of each space. In the kitchen, I lean towards fresh, citrusy notes to keep things feeling clean and uplifting. For the living room, warm and cozy fragrances like amber, sandalwood, or spiced vanilla make it feel extra inviting. In the bedroom, I opt for calming florals or soft musks to create a peaceful retreat. I also adore seasonal scents rich, spiced fragrances in autumn and fresh, airy notes in spring always help set the tone for the time of year.

How does fragrance play a role in your personal space? Are there any signature scents that you love to have in your home?

My current favourite ScentAir fragrance is ‘A Walk in the Woods’ which seems to complement most spaces within my home. Fragrance is a huge part of making my home feel like a sanctuary to me. I love using different scents to create a welcoming atmosphere, whether it’s through candles, wax melts, diffusers, or linen sprays. I love when a fragrance tells a story or evokes a memory, whether it’s a cosy Sunday at home or a dreamy holiday escape. Our visitors often comment on how beautiful our home smells when they arrive.

What are your go-to fragrance types for creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere?

Anything with depth and warmth - amber, oud, vanilla, and woods instantly makes a space feel more intimate in my opinion. I love using scent as a way of shifting the mood from the busyness of daytime to relaxation evening mode at home.

If you could step inside anyone’s home to experience their signature scent, whose home would it be and why? How do you imagine their space smells?

Kate Winslet or The Beckhams!

I imagine Kate’s home to be classic and cozy, with an English countryside feel with lots of warm wood, stone fireplaces, and vintage furniture. The scent? A mix of fresh linen, soft lavender, and a hint of smoky wood from an open fire. David & Victoria Beckham’s home looked polished and luxurious when I saw it on TV recently, they seem to mix personality with high-end design. I imagine their home smells of sleek, minimalist scents such as fresh eucalyptus, bergamot, and white musk.

Do you have any projects you’re working on right now that you’re excited about? Where can we find you online?

Right now, I’m balancing wedding planning with some exciting furniture projects! I’m refinishing two bedside tables and restoring a vintage sideboard. I’m also part-way through an Interior Design course. If you love vintage finds, upcycling projects, and cosy, character-filled interiors, come say hi over at one of my platforms on Instagram @new_spouse_new_house for home and interior content and @thebygonerevivedcollection for up-cycled furniture - I’d love to connect with you!
