Bring the magic of a Disney film to life in the middle of Lower Manhattan? Anything is possible with a little imagination and the power of scent.  

Challenge 

In anticipation of the premier of Disney’s 2018 film, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, Walt Disney Studios partnered with POPSUGAR and Glade to bring the magic of the four realms to life at The Oculus in Lower Manhattan. They imagined an immersive experience that would allow guests to experience the realms first-hand. They knew it would be important to incorporate the limited-edition fragrances Glade created in honour of the film. Though they had fragrances built into the project, they needed to find a way to diffuse the fragrances on a large scale. That’s when they reached out to ScentAir for help.

Solution 

The 'Journey Into the Four Realms' pop-up hosted over 3,000 visitors over 3 days starting on 21 October 2018. The film’s stars Mackenzie Foy and Misty Copeland even made appearances. With the help of ScentAir, event creators constructed targeted scent experiences using fragrance diffusing walls. This solution allowed the team to create vivid experiences without worry that fragrance would get lost in the open concept spaces. ScentAir’s discrete solution allowed the team to create a memorable, immersive experience. Visitors were free to embrace the moment and live the magic of the four realms.
